"Do not fall for their lies. I signed up for insurance for $167 a month with the Drive Safe & Save "discount". It jumped to $171 ($4 big whoop) and I accepted it. Now my bill jumped to over $200 a month. When I asked for an overview of why the drastic increase I got back, and I quote:

"Drive Safe & Save® is included on this vehicle. The discount changed from $84.24 last term to $175.06 this term.
The general rate premium for this vehicle increased by $183.27. The insurance industry is increasingly using data and advanced modeling to improve how policies are rated. The Enhanced Rating Plan now uses over 200 rating variables, compared to about 75 previously, to create more personalized and accurate premiums.
A greater amount of data from third-party consumer reports will be collected and used within rating models.
Examples may include:
Vehicle Information
Driver Information
Prior Insurance History
Claim Information
Annual Mileage
Consumer Credit Information
Vehicle Safety Features

We do not have any specific information other than described in the first paragraph. So, the premium increase is adjusted according to statistical data involving risks and exposures in any given location, vehicles, and claims.

Please refer to your Renewal Declarations that were mailed to you, or you can locate the document in your State Farm account online or on the app.

We have other discounts that may be available to you, including bundling with other policies that may benefit you, such as a Homeowners' or Renters' policy and/or a qualifying LIFE policy. Please give us a call if you are interested."

Three things standout to me on this.

First, the statement, "We do not have any specific information other than described in the first paragraph. So, the premium increase is adjusted according to statistical data involving risks and exposures in any given location, vehicles, and claims." That sounds like "We want more money" to me. Also, I have had no claims submitted in YEARS.

Secondly, this sounds like a template response written by AI and it noticed the mistakes so it made up the previous paragraph.

Lastly, they try to sell me MORE to "discount" the rate. I call BS and will be leaving State Farm after almost 15 years to find an agency that treats me better.

Do not trust Jenny Stewart's branch of State Farm"
